Logging & Incident Reports

I have been preaching logging for years so I fill out incident reports as therapy recording more details than you will ever want to read. (EoD will publish a bunch of it.) Logging reality is the only solution I've said is more important than food or #CGM4G.

@hunikkacan is where i keep a public log. If you want to know what I think, go there.

These incident reports help for a couple reasons:

First, it's the law for certified child care facilities and if you want respectable people to protect us, we are obligated to do our best to abide by the rules.

Before problem solving can be done, an honest assessment needs done to determine the true magnitude of the problem.

Failed solutions (aka "incidents") need to be logged so that we know what doesn't work.

Trends can be identified. Remember when we associated Grandma Cindy with David having headaches and it turned out to be he has my allergy for caffeine?

And frankly, if it turns out that it is dangerous for certain people or combinations of people to be around children, it is our obligation to keep those people away from children until we know what CAN be safely expected.

Additionally, it gives us the moral authority to simply say, "We are doing our best! If you know better, please show us better!"

I feel like Snape, but I'm doing my best to use what I know to keep the people I love safe enough to make fun mistakes.

Responsibility

Veronica has sole custody of Gregory and his triplet brothers. Cindy's Kids is a business run by Gregory's Grandma, who has been co-parenting with Veronica since she separated from their father due to domestic violence in January 2002.

Veronica was disabled by an adverse reaction to Lupron in 2011 [KP].

Chopping this up
Who is Gregory?
Gregory is a 14 year old with unmanaged diabetes and learning disabilities.
Why does G need a CGM?
Gregory has a few "special needs". He has been treated over the years for the following:
  • Pervasively Developmentally Delayed
  • Attention Deficit Disorder
  • Fine-Motor Skill Deficit :: iirc @1%ile
  • Sensory Processing Disorder (treated at Easter Seals)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (presents as "Asperger's-ish but talks too much". Rxd Risperidone & Ritalin/Adderall)
  • Dyslexic (Dx was "visual spacial something")
  • Type 1 Diabetic since 2nd grade
  • Didn't walk until after eye surgery at 16mths
  • von Willebrand's disease
  • Prematurely born at 33w (triplets)
  • Given a 1 on 1 for 5th grade and after social promotion through grades 1-4 he "exceeded expectations" by end of 5th grade

Why do I think my village includes you?

Why don't I have one?

Contribution towards CGM:

Can't sleep

Can't sleep. It isn't crazy that I'm worried. G had two lows today that *I* caught!

This is reasonable anxiety. It is unreasonable to expect me to not worry about these circumstances.

I told G I'll make a flier Sunday and send 20 letter-tantrums a day until he gets his CGM.

Mental health can't be had with these a1cs.

Get to YouTube etc asap to figure out WHICH you want. He shouldn't go on a pump right now, but could be a combo might be a nice option for 2016.
